SLING-LOAD EJECTION DECELERATION SAFETY SYSTEM
SEDSS is a helicopter mounted safety system designed to mitigate the risks associated with external sling load operations. The system provides controlled deceleration and stabilised descent of a released load in the event of cable failure, load instability or emergency ejection. Mounted to the helicopter skids rather than the fuselage, SEDSS integrates a reinforced containment bag and parachute assembly that deploys automatically once the primary sling load is released. This allows the detached load to descend in a predictable and controlled manner, reducing the risk of uncontrolled ground impact to people, vessels, buildings and infrastructure. SEDSS operates independently of aircraft avionics and flight systems, avoiding additional cockpit workload. The system is engineered with inspection, servicing and certification pathways in mind, supporting regulatory acceptance across aviation global.

Applications
Designed for use across military helicopter external load operations, humanitarian airlift missions, forestry, logging and construction lifts, and aerial firefighting resupply operations in high risk environments.
Advantages of the System
Reduces hazards associated with sling load operations through controlled deceleration, lightweight non intrusive design, scalable parachute configurations and automated safety alerts.
System Operation
During normal flight the parachute remains secured under load tension, deploying automatically upon load release to reduce descent speed and warn individuals below.
Controlled Load Deceleration
Designed to significantly reduce terminal velocity following inadvertent sling-load release by deploying a scalable parachute system matched to load weight.
Lightweight Design
Engineered to remain lightweight and non intrusive, allowing integration across multiple helicopter models without interfering with normal flight operations.
Automated Ground Warning
Incorporates an automated audible alert system that activates during deployment, providing immediate warning to ground personnel of a descending load.
